You Will Need:
Blank book or notebook, Sturdy mailing envelope, markers, pens, etc.
Directions:
Your child starts a story and illustrates a few pages. Mail the book to a family member or friend that doesn’t live with you (great for grandparents!). This person continues the story and sends the book back to the child. This continues as long as there are pages!
Tip:
Make your child part of the whole process. She can pick out the blank book, plan what the story will be about, illustrate it (glue a picture in the book or draw directly in the book?) and decide who they want to send it to. When the book is full, put pictures of the authors and illustrators in the back with the date of publication. Children who cannot write can dictate the story to you.
