  • What Uncasville Parents are Saying

    about Bright Horizons Child Care

"Thank you so much for taking such wonderful care of Charles. Every morning when I tell him it is time to go to school, he smiles and claps his hands. You all are wonderful ladies, and will miss you when Charles transitions. (I wish there was more room to write more wonderful things about you all!)"

  • Kindergarten Prep Engages in STEM Education!

Exploring Science, Technology, Engineering and Math!

STEM is an acronym for science, technology, engineering, and math.  STEM education refers to an educational approach that integrates these four disciplines.
STEM activities are happening in our preschool and older classrooms in both planned and spontaneous experiences throught the day.
The Kindergarten Prep children completed a significant step in the exploration of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics as they explored robots!  They were introduced to the concept of robotics when they created their own personal robot and discussed what a robot is and does and explored the word 'technology.'  Click here for pictures from this project.
Kindergarten Prep children continued to explore STEM as they constructed with Zoobs!  By exploring Zoobs, shape identification and their attributes are explored.  Children are encouraged to use simples shapes to form larger shapes and objects!  Click here for pictures.
