You Will Need:
An empty can with a lid- such as a coffee can, Pringles can or powdered formula can-some paint, a piece of paper, scissors and a round ball or object (a golf ball works well as well as a marble or small wiffle ball)
Clean out the can and then cut the paper to fit inside. Drop some paint into the bottom of the can-or roll the ball into the paint & drop into the bottom-and put the lid on. Seal the lid with tape and hand it to your child. Once they are done rolling, dropping, pulling and exploring open the can up and show them the designs the ball created on the paper!
This can be done with infants of any age! Lay them on the floor in front of the can and let them push it, prop them up in a boppy pillow and let them kick the bin with their feet or let an older infant roll and drop it off of a low table. Talk to them about what the can is doing "Look! You rolled it across the floor" or "Did you hear that noise when it fell on the floor"? Let them explore the can- the different sounds it makes when you tap the bottom and the top, try to pull the tape off and of course, try to chew on the lid or bottom! When you take the paper out of the can, talk to them about their creation as well and show it to them. This is a really fun project but with little mess!
