CDW@ Play is located a few blocks south of the intersection at Route 60/Townline Rd. and Milwaukee Ave. Coming from the North, the 3rd stoplight south of that intersection is CDW Way. You will see the large CDW building with the scrolling marquis at the side of the road. Turn West until it dead ends at Lakeview Parkway. A block south you will see a sign that says CDW@Play childcare and fitness center. It is a free standing brown brick building located between the warehouses at CDW's 200 N. Milwaukee address and Vernon Hills High School. If you are coming up Milwaukee from the south before you get to CDW way you will pass American Hotel Register (building with many flagpoles in front) on the west side of the street. When you see the CDW building and sign, that light is CDW Way.

Our space is built for babies on the move: look for bright mirrors, warm rugs, great books, and baskets filled with soft, natural materials. There are musical instruments, toys for pretend play, safe equipment, and outdoor places to explore. You’ll have peace of mind knowing that our stringent safety, security, and cleanliness standards meet or exceed all state and local guidelines.

Even these youngest of children are encouraged to learn about their world through our individualized curriculum that invites exploration, celebrates each important milestone, and supports the transition from the sensory motor world of infancy to the increasingly social and self-directed world of toddlers.

Learning at Home

Placemats

You Will Need:

11 x 14 paper, felt tip pens or paint, photographs optional

Directions:

Children draw, paint or make a collage on the paper. They might want to add photographs. Write each family members' name on his/her placemat. Take the creations to be laminated at a local office store or cover with clear contact paper and use them as placemats.

Tip:

Have each family member make a placemat. Make a few extras for guests. If you write sentiments that a child dictates, the placemats are wonderful gifts. Footprints work well for babies.
