Guestimating and Estimating!

You Will Need:

A small bag of pretzels, nuts, screws, nails, legos, etc.

Directions:

Every family member guesses or estimates the quantity of the items in the bag. Then the bag is emptied out and the items counted. After counting, you can talk with your child whether there are more, less or the same amount as they estimated.

Tip:

At first, your child may guess very high or very low estimates. However, with practice, their estimates are likely to get more realistic.

Mr. Ron's Jubilee Puppet Theater
Mr. Ron visits all of the OKS homebases one a month. The children love his renditions of the The Wheels on the Bus, In the Jungle, and Scid-a-ma-rink-a-dink-a-dink-a-do. When paired with his puppets and instruments the room becomes filled with children dancing, laughing, and taking turns helping Mr. Ron sing his songs. 

Pajama Day
The children get to come to school cozy in their pajamas! Whole wheat waffles are served at morning snack and the children enjoy reading books and showing off their PJs.

Handwriting Without Tears
A program that teaches our preschool and kinder-prep classes about how to form letters and helps them begin to write!
