We are conveniently located off of 495 at exit 30/Colesville Rd (towards Silver Spring). Follow Colesville Rd for approximately 2 miles, make a left onto East West Highway (the cross street is at a light & directly after the SS Metro Station appears on your left). NOAA Building 3 will be the 3rd building on the left side of EW Highway (there is a large hand sculpture water fountain in front of the building). The parking garage entrance is past the hand sculpture. Take the elevator to floor 1 & exit the glass doors on to the terrace. The center will be on your right. We are also metro accessible by taking the red line to the Silver Spring Station.

Learning at Home

Treasures in a Bag

You Will Need:

Purse or canvas bag, and small items: magnets, keys, old credit cards, lipstick, small toys, paint brush, etc.

Directions:

Put objects in the purse or bag. Your child can open the bag and discover the treasures. Talk to your child about what he/she is finding. “What do you call that?... What can we do with that?”

Tip:

Be sure that objects are large enough that your child will not choke on them. This is a fun restaurant activity.

At the NOAA center we offer many enrichment programs through out the year to supplement our regular program. Some of the enrichments offered are as follows: Digital Kids, Spanish, Creative Dance including Ballet and Tap, Fitness and Aerobics, Cooking, Creative Art, Music and a Sports Program including soccer, tee ball, etc.
