The Detroit Diesel-UAW Child Development Center is located at 13440 Outer Drive West, between 1-96 and Plymouth Road. From Telegraph, take Plymouth Road east to Outer Drive. Make a left onto Outer Drive. The Center is located two blocks down on the left. Enter through the Detroit Diesel Corporation guard shack and follow the signs around to the Child Development Center. From I-96: Exit at Outer Drive. Go south on Outer Drive. The road will curve to the left. The entrance to DDC is on the right hand side of the street just after the railroad tracks.

A great place to learn, discover and grow!

Welcome to the Detroit Diesel-UAW Child Development Center. At the Center we implement an educational program that is based on the developmental work of Maria Montessori. The program allows children to explore and master life skills in an environment that is rich with unique educational materials and a wide variety of hands-on experiences. We believe that by providing the right environment, one that is stimulating and nurturing, a foundation is laid for a lifelong interest in learning. At the Detroit Diesel-UAW Child Development Center, we employ only highly qualified, experienced staff to implement our program. Our staff receive on-going training focused on curriculum, child development and parent interaction. From the environment, to the curriculum, to the staff, we are committed to building a “Gateway to Discovery” for each child enrolled in the programs....
