How do Bright Horizons’ programs and teachers inspire children to become enthusiastic learners?
At BH at Chester we are always encouraging the children to take every opportunity in the world to learn and explore. With so much devastation and destruction around NJ, we wanted the children to see this also brought us opportunities! A chance to touch, explore and learn about things that are NOT always within our reach! Our experience was showcased in the Chester Library for the month of December.
Science Rocks is the Bright Horizons approach to science across all age groups; based upon our knowledge that young children are born with a strong sense of curiosity and life is full of exploration, experimentation, and the process of making discoveries.
Jumpstart's Read for the Record®, presented in partnership with the Pearson Foundation, took place at Bright Horizons at Chester on October 4. Jumpstart's Read for the Record is an annual reading celebration that highlights the need for quality early education in America by mobilizing adults and children to set a record for the largest shared reading experience.
Parents joined us on September 6th and 13th for an in-depth exploration of our curriculum and to experience how their child will learn and grow in their current classroom. A presentation by our Educational coordinator provided an overview of our curriculum and the developmental progression of learning for each age group.
The Xtreme Camp children hosted an Alex's Lemonade Stand and Art Auction to help fight childhood cancer. The event was filled with many amazing ArtSmart masterpieces created by the children. The campers created lemon bars, lemon muffins and homemade lemonade for the event. They raised over $200 and had a great time doing it!
The children from Our World, Our Backyard Summer Camp program participated in our very first "walking" field trip. We went to The Flower Patch Florist on Main St in Chester. We learned about floral arrangements, different flowers and how we can keep them healthy! The Chester Police Department stopped traffic so we could cross safely. What a wonderful experience!
This family event was open to the community to celebrate the center's recent renovation and to discover the benefits of our exceptional World at Their Fingertips Curriculum.
