We showcased our Well Aware curriculum by providing children and their families opportunities to experience typical, hands-on activities. Attendees were able to use our Cooking Club to make Corn and Bean Salsa, visit our Movement Matters Zone for a yoga class, meet instructors from Brill's Karate, and experience Gardenworks as we planted our herb garden outside.
We highlighted the Movement Matters component of our curriculum by showcasing the new Movement Matters Zone dedicated to enriching this aspect of our curriculum. Families joined Ms. Kelly for hands-on and fun physical exercises that highlighted balancing, gymnastics, yoga and music and movement!
We celebrated St. Patrick's Day by making Leprechaun Masks during Artsmart. During naptime, Lucky the Leprechaun visited and left a surprise in everyone's shoes while they were napping!
Mayor Nicholas Poliseno joined us as a special guest reader! He read a selection from the Bright Horizons Growing Readers collection. The children enjoyed preparing for his visit by making a banner and a giant card for him to take back to his office!
The students at Bright Horizons at Spotswood celebrated Valentine's Day in their fanciest attire! They were able to have a Movement Matters Dance Party with ribbons and then they were able to decorate their own cookie for dessert!
We celebrated the 100th Day of School at Bright Horizons at Spotswood on February 13th. All classes got to count out 100 fruit loops for their very own necklaces and our Kindergarten Prep and Kindergarten classes got to make a cake in the shape of the number 100.
Bright Horizons at Spotswood hosted a Chinese New Year Dinner Celebration to help welcome in the year of the snake! Each family was invited to join us for some delicious food and a fun project during this wonderful event!
We celebrated the coming of Fall with our Fall Festival on 10/10! Families joined us for face painting, arts and crafts, Justin's Jr. Sports, the Fun Bus, tattoos and dinner!
We visited Von Thun's Farm and enjoyed a hay ride, pumpkin picking, tricycle rides, and a visit to the farm animals!
Bright Horizons at Spotswood participated in Jumpstart's Read For The Record program in which they attempted to break the world record for having the most children read the same book on the same day! This year, we read Ladybug Girl and the Bug Squad.
