When you are taking the Palisades Parkway, get off exit 4, route 9W. Turn onto 9W north. You will see a sign that says welcome to New York, then pass the Lamont Doherty Earth Observatory, keep going on 9W, around the bend. Then make the next right into our driveway. There is a green wooden sign that says 135 Route 9W private drive. If you hit a traffic light you have gone to far. When you are taking 9W to the center, from upper Rockland County, you take 9W south all the way down into Palisades. You are getting close to the center when you pass Rockland Country Club on the right, then IBM on the right, then you will hit a four way traffic light. You go through the traffic light and we are the 5th driveway on the left. There is a green wooden sign that says 135 Route 9W Private Drive.

Our Kindergarten Program

Comprehensive curriculum preparing children for school success

Our center develops expectations and practices in concert with our state curriculum standards so children make an easy transition into the local school system. At the same time, our curriculum builds off the child’s knowledge base and skills, learning style, and interests. There is a clear emphasis on the development of strong language, math, and science skills. Important “school skills” of listening carefully, following through on a sequence of tasks, and working cooperatively are reinforced.

Face Collages

You Will Need:

Magazines or photos, scissors, glue sticks or glue and brushes

Directions:

With your child find and cut faces out of magazine. Talk about and respond to your child reaction to some of the faces. Ask what they might be thinking. Expand upon their recognition of physical differences. Help your child notice skin tones, glasses, hair attributes, etc.

Tip:

.It s the process, not the product that is important. Children might cut up the pictures into small pieces; use too much or not enough glue, etc. It is about learning by experimentation!
