Our Kindergarten Program

Comprehensive curriculum preparing children for school success

Our center develops expectations and practices in concert with our state curriculum standards so children make an easy transition into the local school system. At the same time, our curriculum builds off the child’s knowledge base and skills, learning style, and interests. There is a clear emphasis on the development of strong language, math, and science skills. Important “school skills” of listening carefully, following through on a sequence of tasks, and working cooperatively are reinforced.

Learning at Home

Prediction

You Will Need:

a clear container of water large enough for your objects to fit in. Objects to experiment with (rocks, feathers, paper, bread, plastic toys, etc.)

Directions:

Set up one or more clear bins filled with water. Help your child find items to experiments with. Ask your child to predict which items will sink and which items will float. Place items in the water and observe. Ask, what do you see happening? Why do you think thats happening?

Tip:

Find some items that have suprising results. ( A jar with an airtight lid on seems like it should sink, but it floats)
