Metrorail from Smithsonian Station- The Smithsonian Station is located on the Blue and Orange line of the Metrorail System. Exit the station on the Independence Ave side. At the top of the outside escalator make a u-turn to the right to walk east on Independence Avenue. Walk one block to a road called the L?Enfant Promenade on the left will be the Smithsonian Castle on the right will be the Department of Energy main building. Turn right and walk under the Department of Energy main building. Once you pass the under the building there will be a high wall and a smaller building on the right. As you walk forward the height of the wall decreases gradually to reveal a second smaller, detached building which is the child development center. Feel free to ask any security staff around the building for assistance, they are all aware of the centers location.
