  • What Somerville Parents are Saying

    about Bright Horizons Child Care

"Your kind, generous and quiet attentiveness is unmatched. My daughter feels heard and seen by you, which (for better or worse) is something she really relies upon. I can also see how this attentiveness is a clear asset to your dedication to emergent curriculum. Thank you!"

  • Whole School Small Groups Projects

    Curriculum, Activities, Information

Each year, the staff and teachers work together to choose a study topic that will be explored as an entire school. In the past, such projects and investigations have included explorations of photography, woodworking, simple machines, artist studies, and author studies. The whole-school study takes place twice a week for six weeks. Each classroom teacher leads a small group composed of children from all four classrooms and selects a project-related topic of interest to the children.

Not only do the study groups result in a dynamic project based curriculum for children across ages, but also it is a wonderful time for children and teachers across classrooms to deepen relationships and build community. At the end of the project, we invite families to a breakfast celebration to display this hard work.

    Well Aware and Staying Healthy

Our center environment offers children a healthy and safe place to develop and learn. Through our Well Aware program and our Staying Healthy procedures, we set high expectations for creating healthy environments and also foster positive attitudes within children towards healthy living, physical activity, and nutrition.
