  • Kindergarten Prep Science Fair

    Science activites that Rock!

Just as Scientists are enthusiastic about scientific discovery, so are our Kindergarten Prep students. Over the last several weeks  the Kindergarten Prep class had the opportunity to explore several Science activities where they were able to advance scientific reasoning, develop and test their own theories and engage in experiments. The children were then able to showcase their scientific knowledge during the Kindergarten prep Science fair. Parents were invited to learn, explore,  investigate and participate in hands on activities. Together with their children they were able to  share in the Scientific discovery of the class and realize that Science really does ROCK!

  • In the Garden!

    Spring and Summer Planting

At Bright Horizons nature is our classroom! All of our children are given the opportunity to experience nature. In the Spring and early Summer we plant vegetables, herbs, and flowers in our raised bed garden boxes. While digging in the garden, and preparing the soil for planting the children were so interested when we found several earthworms living in the soil. The children watched them crawl in and out of the dirt and we learned about some of the different ways worms help the soil. The Preschool children have planted brussel sprouts, fennel, and peppers this year to name just a few of the vegetables growing in the garden. The Toddlers enjoy exploring in the dirt and have planted a variety of lettuces. Our potato plants are so big! Our Toddlers have been taking care of them and are excited to pull them up in the fall. Watering the garden is an important job, and the children have been using our watering cans to keep our plants growing strong!
