  • Restaurant Week in Kindergarten Prep and Preschool

    Pizza Soup!

After reading Pizza Soup, by Fay Robison, our preschool and kindergarten prep classes decided that we would work as a group to make some of our very own pizza soup to serve in our classroom restaurant!

To make the soup, we followed the directions from our recipe. We took some time to wash our tomatoes because it’s important to keep our food clean and free of germs. Then we chopped them up and added them to the pot. Friends helped to add the rest of the ingredients and to stir up the soup.  When all of the ingredients were added and ready, we left it to cook  for the rest of the morning. Sometimes cooking can take a while, but we stopped to check on our soup every now and then.

Of course, the best part of every cooking activity happens at the very end – we get to eat it! The final steps for our pizza soup were to add a slice of french bread and some cheese to the top before we dug in!
