  • Science Rocks in Preschool

    Experimenting with Flowers

The Preschoolers at Bright Horizons Pembroke have been anxious for Spring flowers to start blooming!  Our Preschool teachers seized this opportunity to teach the children about flowers and other plants.  The children learned that in order to grow, flowers need water and sunlight.  In a Science Rocks experiment, the children were able to observe how a flower drinks water.  The Preschoolers added a few drops of food coloring to water.  Then, they placed white carnations into the colorful water.  The children observed that as the flower drank the water, the white flowers turned the color of the water!
